Job Summary

At Stevens E3, we are seeking a highly skilled Exhibit Installation Specialist to join our team. As an Exhibit Installation Specialist, you will be responsible for supervising and ensuring the efficient setup and takedown of exhibits in the field, while also working within our carpentry shop to fabricate exhibit elements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications
  • Create verified pull lists and identify crating requirements
  • Assemble and stage exhibits or products for client viewing and quality control
  • Disassemble staged exhibits, pack effectively and safely, and create a bill of materials
  • Transport products
  • Install and dismantle exhibits
  • Assign job tasks and communicate relevant information to show service personnel on-site
  • Motivate on-site staff
  • Implement and ensure adherence to Health and Safety policies
  • Arrange special requests of clients
  • Supervise on-site show labor
  • Handle on-site problems
  • Recommend cost-saving measures
  • Problem-solve on-site

Administration:

  • Complete reports concerning field service jobs, including service contractor forms
  • Prepare outbound labels and bills of lading and submit paperwork to show management
  • Document on-site changes and associated costs for client approval

Construct and Repair Exhibits:

  • Follow standards and procedures and make adjustments as necessary
  • Fabricate components in accordance with time-frames available
  • Laminate and finish according to specifications
  • Use tools for measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling materials

Ensure Operation of Carpentry Equipment:

  • Complete preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair equipment malfunctions
  • Evaluate new equipment and techniques and make recommendations to management

Required Skills/Experience/Education:

  • Completion of secondary school
  • Completion of a three to four year apprenticeship program
  • A combination of over four years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college, or industry courses in carpentry
  • Valid passport and ability to travel within Canada and the United States
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed
  • Ability to operate under significant time constraints and pressure
  • Working knowledge of exhibit construction and materials
  • Knowledge of trade shows, show management, graphic arts
  • Carpentry experience an asset
