Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Specializing in Wound, Ostomy and Continence to join our team at CarePartners. As a key member of our community nursing services, you will provide wound and ostomy consultation for patients in the clinic and community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, prevent, and intervene in wound infections and ostomy care
  • Care for patients with complex wounds, ostomies, and continence issues
  • Provide lower leg assessments, including ABPIs, and edema management
  • Critically appraise wound care literature and apply research evidence to practice
  • Classify and indicate wound care interventions to reduce visit frequency and achieve desired outcomes
  • Practice conservative sharp wound debridement and other debridement methods
  • Support patient safety by practicing according to policy and standards

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) diploma
  • Current College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) registration in good standing
  • Graduate of Nurses Specialized in Wound, Ostomy & Continence Canada (NSWOCC, formerly CAET), CNA exam may be pending
  • Several years of escalating experience managing wounds and ostomies
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a strong desire to make a difference in patients' lives
