Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Materials Optimization Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for optimizing material movement through our facilities, implementing and maintaining warehouse management systems, and playing a key role in the implementation of our new SAP system.

Your primary objective will be to improve efficiency and reduce costs by streamlining material flows, resolving issues related to materials operations and systems, and managing customer, supplier, and inventory management within the materials group. You will work closely with our materials and logistics team to develop and launch SAP as required, supporting material and logistics in their efforts to optimize processes and improve overall performance.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with the materials and logistics team to implement and maintain the warehouse management system.
  2. Optimize material movement through the facility for improved efficiency and cost reduction.
  3. Play a key role in the implementation of the new SAP system. Support material and logistics in developing and launching SAP as required.
  4. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to materials operations and systems.
  5. Manage customer, supplier, and inventory management within the materials group.
  6. Troubleshoot and escalate over and under shipments from suppliers. Utilize system-based reports to identify risks and provide daily status updates, proactively managing potential shortages.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent field.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, supply chain management, and inventory control.
  • Well-developed communication, organizational interpersonal and analytical abilities.
  • Sound computer skills, including knowledge of software in current use.
  • Strong analytical/organizational skills.
