The Institute for Studies in Transdisciplinary Engineering Education & Practice invites applications for a full-time teaching stream appointment, specializing in the instruction of communication to engineering students. Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach multiple courses and programs, contributing to the Engineering Communication Program's mandate to integrate communication across the core undergraduate curricula.
  • Design and deliver instruction to help English professional language development for multilingual students.
  • Integrate written, oral, and visual communication principles within STEM (and especially engineering/engineering design) related projects, courses, and curricula.
  • Possess a demonstrated commitment to excellent pedagogical inquiry and a demonstrated interest in teaching-related scholarly activities.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Earned a PhD degree in engineering or technical communication or a related area, such as English, Applied Linguistics, Rhetoric, Engineering Education or Engineering.
  • Demonstrated record of excellence in teaching, including lecture preparation and delivery, curriculum development, and development of online material/lectures.
  • Experience designing and delivering instruction to help English professional language development for multilingual students.
  • Strong foundation in engineering communication theory and pedagogy.
