Professor in Indigenous Studies Opportunity

Institute of Indigenous Research and Studies at the University of Ottawa invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. This position is open to Indigenous scholars of any disciplinary background with a strong research focus on Indigenous Studies or cognate disciplines.
The successful candidate will contribute to growing Indigenous Studies as a discipline at the University of Ottawa, teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels, in English or French. They will also be expected to conduct research that results in peer-reviewed scholarly publications and lead collaborations with Indigenous communities and other partners committed to decolonization of academic research.
The Institute of Indigenous Research and Studies is a newer academic unit, and the successful candidate will be expected to participate in its growth, including building graduate programming. A commitment to developing the Institute's research and teaching excellence is required.
The ideal candidate will have an established rigorous research program with grants from major funding agencies and engagement with Indigenous communities. They should also have strong knowledge of university governance and be committed to advancing educational opportunities and outcomes for Indigenous students.
