About This Opportunity

Barnstorm VFX is seeking a highly skilled and experienced CG Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for overseeing the creation of high-quality visual effects for a variety of television and online streaming projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Collaborate closely with the Head of 3D and Production to determine project needs, both technically and creatively.
  • Scheduling and Deadlines: Assist producers in scheduling and maintaining expected CG turnovers and deadlines throughout the course of the project.
  • Client Relationships: Develop a good rapport with clients, helping to plan and execute their vision to the highest standard.
  • Team Leadership: Oversee the CG team for the project duration, clearly communicating tasks and deadlines.
  • Pipeline Development: Assist with all technical aspects of production for the CG department, developing pipeline and workflow for the project that is effective and efficient.
  • Quality Control: Review and QC all work completed by the CG team, giving constructive feedback as needed and inspiring growth.
  • Creative Vision: Offer creative vision to clients and team, ensuring exceptional work within client budget and time constraints.
  • Shot Review: Contribute a creative eye to shots while always referencing reality.
Requirements
  • Leadership Experience: Proven experience in leading a team of artists with clear direction and mentorship.
  • VFX Experience: 5+ years working in a VFX studio environment.
  • Critical Review: Ability to critically review raw renders and shots coming out of pipeline.
  • Project Management: Experience in collaboratively bidding and scheduling episodic projects.
  • Pipeline Familiarity: Able to work with current pipeline as made available.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional team communication skills.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience with Houdini, Arnold renderer highly preferred.
  • Multi-Project Management: Experience with multi-episode project management for television.
  • Artistic and Organizational Skills: Exceptional artistic skills and organizational skills; understands how to prioritize the necessary tasks and assignments for themselves and their artists.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Interact with everyone in a positive manner.
  • Adaptability: Able to multitask and switch gears as deadlines and priorities shift.
  • Professional Growth: A genuine interest in pushing your creative and professional boundaries.
  • Self-Directed: An ability to be self-directed and to thrive on tight deadlines.
