Chef Job Description

At Humpty's Big Plate Diner, we are seeking a skilled Chef to join our kitchen team. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for planning and preparing delicious meals for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan menus and estimate food requirements to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods to the highest standards.
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Train kitchen staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Order supplies and equipment to maintain a well-stocked kitchen.
  • Supervise kitchen staff and helpers to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment to optimize kitchen efficiency.
  • Clean kitchen and work areas to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Manage kitchen operations to ensure seamless service delivery.
Requirements:
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Permanent employment.
  • English as the primary language of communication.
  • 30 to 40 hours of work per week.
