Job Title: Server

We are seeking a skilled and friendly Server to join our team at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier hotel in Ottawa. As a Server, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests, ensuring their dining experience is memorable and enjoyable.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide professional, friendly, and engaging service to guests
  • Assist guests with menu items, answering questions and making recommendations
  • Follow outlet policies, procedures, and service standards
  • Have full knowledge of beverage lists and promotions
  • Have full knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents, and preparation methods
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
Qualifications:
  • Previous customer service experience required
  • 1-2 years server experience in a similar environment
  • Previous point of sale system experience an asset, but not required
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Fluent in both official languages required
  • Smart Serve Certification required
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
  • Highly responsible and reliable
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
Physical Aspects of Position:
  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs
  • Occasional kneeling, lifting
  • Occasional ascending or descending stairs and ramps
