About the Role

The Home Support Worker reports to the Assisted Living Clinical Manager and provides person-centered care. This role is integral to our team, ensuring residents' rights and dignity are respected.

Responsibilities

  • Follow established personal service plans.
  • Provide personal care, including medication assistance, bathing, grooming, and meal assistance.
  • Respond to call bell alarms and monitor residents' progress.
  • Involves residents in organizing their home environment.
  • Encourages participation in social, physical, spiritual, and recreational activities.
  • Maintains knowledge of community policies and procedures.
  • Attends and participates in community and education programs.
  • Performs housekeeping duties on night shifts.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Graduate from a recognized Care Aide Program.
  • Active registration with the British Columbia Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry.
  • Valid First Aid Level 1 certification and current CPR.
  • Medication Administration Certification required.
  • Previous experience in a care community preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
  • Pass the vulnerable sector Criminal Record Check.
  • Good physical health and ability to perform repetitive tasks.
