Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Market Risk Analyst to support our Finance department by providing end-of-day reporting and risk analysis for our crude oil and NGL marketing positions. The successful candidate will be responsible for determining monthly profit and loss positions and collaborating with the Finance and Marketing & Trading departments to communicate financial results.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct daily transaction exposure analysis and review of Profit and Loss and Value/Earnings at Risk.
  2. Develop and maintain processes and controls that maintain the internal Market Risk Policy.
  3. Build and maintain Mark-to-Market (MTM) models and perform Value-at-Risk (VaR) and stress testing.
  4. Collaborate with the Front Office to understand new and existing trading strategies for risk review and reporting.
  5. Analyze and discuss the risk profiles and any changes to the trade book strategies with management on a regular basis.
  6. Prepare regular risk reports and dashboards for senior management and the board of directors.
  7. Provide direct support to management in areas related to Company growth initiatives and analytical requirements.
Requirements
  1. Post-secondary degree in Finance or a related field; CPA, CFA, or MBA would be considered an asset.
  2. Minimum 5 years of experience in Risk Management, Accounting, or Trading Analytics is considered an asset.
  3. Proven knowledge of modelling and valuation of Mark-to-Market and Value-at-Risk.
  4. Understanding of financial markets, instruments, and products to assess their impact on market risk.
  5. Self-starter with self-discipline and able to work independently.
  6. Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with various levels of the organization.
  7. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  8. Experience with data analysis tools and techniques, including Excel, SQL Server, and Python, to analyze and interpret complex spreadsheets.
Work Environment

Kingston Midstream is committed to providing a flexible work environment. This position is eligible for our Flexible Remote Work Policy, allowing the successful candidate to work in office Tuesday – Thursday and from a remote location Monday and Friday.
