Warehouse Supervisor (Area Manager) Role
Masco Canada Limited is seeking a skilled Warehouse Supervisor (Area Manager) to lead our warehouse team and drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise a team of up to 45 employees, including lead hands and hourly staff, to ensure safe and efficient warehouse operations.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing employees on safe work practices and 5S principles.
- Administer employee-related activities, including time and attendance, policy guidance, and vacation planning.
- Model diversity, equity, and inclusion principles and promote a positive work environment.
- Resolve personnel issues through data analysis, investigation, and solution implementation.
- Schedule and communicate with freight carriers and ensure timely shipments and deliveries.
- Oversee product organization and storage, ensuring efficient warehouse operations.
- Act as a liaison with other departments, including Operations, Accounts Payable, and Customer Service.
- Manage manpower to execute daily and weekly warehouse operational requirements.
- Track and review performance metrics, managing team performance to meet defined standards.
- Follow Area Manager Standard Work schedule with high consistency.
- Participate in Lean Glass House to meet TCP targets.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of warehouse-related supervisor experience, with a proven track record of leading, motivating, and building effective teams.
- Experience in a similar role, preferably in a unionized environment.
- Continuous improvement and process development background is an asset.
- Computer skills and aptitude, effective communication and collaborative skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Possess a continuous improvement mindset.
