Warehouse Supervisor (Area Manager)

The Warehouse Supervisor (Area Manager) is a key member of the Operations Management team at Masco Canada Limited. This role is responsible for leading a team of warehouse employees and ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective operation of the warehouse.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a team of up to 5 lead hands and 40 hourly employees
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing employees on safe work practices
  • Administer employee-related activities, including time and attendance, policy, and procedures
  • Act as a role model for the team in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion principles
  • Manage vacation planning, leave of absence, and other employee-related activities
  • Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, and recommending solutions
  • Schedule and communicate with freight carriers
  • Ensure product is stored and shipped efficiently
  • Oversee and prioritize the execution of shipping, warehousing, and receiving requirements
  • Act as a liaison with other departments, including Operations, Accounts Payable, and Customer Service
  • Manage manpower to execute daily and weekly warehouse operational requirements
  • Track and review performance metrics and manage team performance to meet defined standards
  • Follow Area Manager Standard Work schedule with high consistency
  • Participate in operational improvements in safety, delivery, quality, and cost

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of warehouse-related supervisor experience
  • Proven experience in a similar role, with unionized experience an asset
  • Continuous improvement and process development background an asset
  • Computer skills and aptitude
  • Effective communication and collaborative skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Continuous improvement mindset

Shift Schedule:

  • Afternoon: Monday-Thursday, 4-day work week, 3-day weekend
  • Day: Monday-Friday, 5-day work week
