Long Term Care Nursing Specialist

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our team at Little Mountain Place in Vancouver, BC.
About the RoleThis position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic long term care environment where you will provide resident-centered care and contribute to the overall well-being of our patients. As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for assessing residents' physical and emotional needs, developing individualized care plans, and implementing evidence-based practices to promote optimal health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive nursing assessments and develop effective care plans that address residents' complex needs.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless transitions between departments.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, while monitoring for potential side effects and adverse reactions.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with residents, families, and colleagues to foster a supportive and inclusive environment.
To be successful in this role, you must possess:
- A current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Completion of an approved gerontology course or equivalent experience working in long term care settings.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing competing demands.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with residents, families, and colleagues.
