About the Role

  • The Principal Geometric Engineer is responsible for leading dimensional improvements in vehicle geometry, focusing on Closures through part, tooling, or design actions.
  • You'll analyze complex Closures and associated components using various measurement systems, such as Meisterbock, quality assurance fixtures, laser trackers, CMMs, and In-Line Vision Stations.
  • Your task will be to perform data analysis, organizing data from multiple sources to identify top issues and potential root causes in Closures.
  • You'll collaborate with production personnel and plant quality engineers to implement and validate proposed solutions for Closures.
  • Verifying the effectiveness of corrective actions for Closures through comprehensive data analysis is also part of your responsibilities.
  • You'll proactively monitor trend charts and engage with cross-functional teams to drive variation reduction of critical product and process characteristics related to Closures.
  • Interacting with suppliers, both internal and external, to communicate issues and drive resolution specific to Closures is another key aspect of this role.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; knowledge in basic statistics and process control is required.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • A proficient understanding of GD&T and the use of gauges and fixtures, particularly with relevance to Closures.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office applications.

This role requires a US work visa, specifically the TN visa, and the candidate must be a Canadian citizen.
