Job Title: Harbor Pilot

Join LHR Americas as a Harbor Pilot and be part of a dynamic team responsible for providing professional pilotage services to ensure safe and efficient vessel traffic management at Saudi Aramco Oil Ports and Terminals.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Harbor Pilot to join our team. As a Harbor Pilot, you will be responsible for directing deep-loaded vessels to a safe anchorage and lining them up for departure channels upon the ship's Master's request. You will also investigate ship/pier-related oil pollution incidents and prepare reports, maintain a permanent official log of vessels handled, and advise vessels of ballast condition required, berthing and unberthing time, and other information to expedite ship movement and help with optimum scheduling.

Responsibilities:
  • Direct deep-loaded vessels to a safe anchorage and line up same for the departure channel upon the ship's Master's request.
  • Investigate ship/pier-related oil pollution incidents and prepare reports.
  • Maintain a permanent official log of vessels handled.
  • Advise vessels of ballast condition required, berthing and unberthing time, and other information to expedite ship movement and help with optimum scheduling.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as directed by Senior Harbor Pilot Supervision.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Science from a recognized and approved Maritime Studies College and have 5 years of experience, including at least 4 in Harbor Pilot or seagoing experience.
  • Or hold a High National Diploma from a recognized and approved Maritime Studies College and have 6 years of experience, including at least 4 in Harbor Pilot or seagoing experience.
  • Maritime Studies discipline required for HND & Bachelor graduates.
  • Tanker Safety Course-Basic training in Oil/Chem/Gas.
  • Helicopter and Underwater Escape Training Course is also necessary.
