Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Intermediate Full-Stack Developer and Squad Lead to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for improving and optimizing existing products and system architecture, following the direction of our Engineering Management for new product development, and balancing leadership responsibilities with hands-on development.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Improve and optimize existing products and system architecture with a focus on security, scalability, performance, and adherence to software development best practices.
  2. Follow the direction of Trip Ninja's Engineering Management for new product development, including both front-end (React) and back-end (Django) development.
  3. Balance leadership responsibilities with hands-on development, contributing to key features and solving complex technical challenges.
  4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to projects, processes, and technical solutions.
  5. Provide regular status updates and reports to senior management.
  6. Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and resource allocations while acting as a Scrum Master to drive the Agile process, manage sprints, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality features.
  7. Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to understand project requirements and goals, while facilitating clear communication between the squad and other departments to ensure transparency in development progress and challenges.
  8. Promote knowledge sharing and professional development within the squad.
  9. Set clear expectations for team members, provide regular feedback, and define individual goals via regular 1:1 meetings.
  10. Lead, mentor, and coach a group of software developers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
Requirements
  1. BS/MS or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related field.
  2. 3 years experience in a similar development role.
  3. 1 year experience in management/squad lead role.
  4. Working knowledge of cloud-based infrastructure (AWS preferred).
  5. Experience with front-end development (React, JS/Angular, HTML, CSS/Bootstrap, etc).
  6. Experience with back-end development (Python/Django, experience with Python is a must for this role).
  7. Thorough understanding of Agile methodology.
  8. Experience integrating and maintaining REST and SOAP APIs.
  9. Experience training and mentoring other engineers.
  10. Hard working and detail oriented.
