Job Title: School Psychoeducator

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced psychoeducator to join our team at the Eastern Townships School Board. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to students who are experiencing social maladjustments, working closely with teachers, school resources, and parents to develop and implement strategies to help these students succeed.

About the Role

The position of school psychoeducator encompasses a range of responsibilities, including prevention and screening activities, providing guidance and assistance to students, evaluating adaptation difficulties and adaptive skills, and developing psychoeducational intervention plans. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to draw up and review individualized education plans, provide advice and support to teachers and parents, and design and deliver activities to support students with social maladjustments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a psychoeducational service that meets the needs of students and schools;
  • Conduct screenings and assessments to identify students who may be experiencing problems;
  • Work with teachers to develop and implement strategies to support students with social maladjustments;
  • Provide guidance and support to parents and school resources;
  • Design and deliver activities to support students with social maladjustments;
  • Participate in multidisciplinary teams to develop and review individualized education plans;
  • Advise management staff on matters related to student integration and propose solutions to support decision making.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have a strong understanding of psychoeducation principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You should also be able to work effectively in a team environment and have the ability to adapt to changing situations.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is between $49,456 and $87,626 per year, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental insurance, retirement savings plan, and opportunities for professional development.
