Job Title: Senior Structural Engineer

Tetra Tech is seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our team in the GTA offices. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for performing various engineering assignments that require a general familiarity with a broad field of engineering.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise large groups of professionals and non-professionals or small groups of specialized engineers or as a highly specialized technical engineer in the Power sector.
  • Lead large or small projects, with the ability to commit to and maintain a project timeline and complete tasks within allocated time frames.
  • Document and track project tasks and related design documents, with strong organizational skills.
  • Liaise with other discipline leads, project managers, vendors, contractors, and clients to facilitate smooth flow of information for use in preparing preliminary and detailed design and provide design clarifications and solutions during construction.
  • Have strong computer-oriented skills, with familiarity with Autocad, MathCad, MS Office, Numerical Methods Solutions, and proficiency in STAAD Pro Software for Structural Analysis.
  • Have strong hand-on expertise in the design of heavy industrial structures (steel, concrete, wood, masonry), preferably in the power generation industry, and Consulting Engineering experience is desirable.
  • Knowledge of power plant Station Structures and Components (SSCs) is an asset.
  • Prepare and/or verify procurement activities and deliverables, review technical content of supplier/vendor bids and technical submissions, and perform any required inspections as necessary for procurement of material.
Qualifications:
  • University Degree in Civil-Structural Engineering or related discipline is preferred.
  • 12+ years of related engineering experience is considered an asset.
  • Registered or eligible to register with the PEO as a P.ENG.
  • Preferably has previous exposure to stations, structures, and components of Nuclear Power Plants.
  • Experience within the utility or power industry is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in structural design for concrete and steel structures and use of STAAD Pro Software for Structural Analysis.
  • Must be able to obtain a security clearance.
