Job Title: Sign Language Interpreter Community

We are seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to join our team at Sorenson Communications. As a Sign Language Interpreter, you will play a vital role in facilitating communication between Deaf and hearing individuals in our community.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will have excellent language skills in American Sign Language (ASL) and English, with the ability to interpret between the two languages. You will work closely with our team to provide high-quality interpretation services to our clients, ensuring that they receive accurate and effective communication.

Responsibilities:
  • Interpret between ASL and English in a variety of settings, including community events, meetings, and one-on-one interactions.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and community members.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in interpretation.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Sign Language Interpreter.
  • Excellent language skills in ASL and English.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
