Sorenson Communications is seeking a highly skilled Sign Language Interpreter to join our team as a Community Liaison. As a key member of our interpreting services team, you will play a vital role in facilitating communication between Deaf and hearing individuals in various settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Effectively interpret between American Sign Language (ASL) and spoken English, ensuring accurate and clear communication.
  • Maintain active membership in good standing with the Conference of Interpreter Cultures (CIC) and adhere to industry standards and best practices.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, demonstrating a respectful and professional attitude towards customers and colleagues.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet the diverse interpreting needs of our Deaf and hearing clients.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance interpreting skills and stay up-to-date with industry developments.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Interpreter certification and/or relevant experience in ASL interpreting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel independently and access a vehicle, valid driver's license, and minimum state-required vehicle insurance.
