Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Healthcare IT Specialist to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the adoption and implementation of our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide at-the-elbow and remote guidance and coaching to physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to increase their satisfaction and meaningful use of our EMR systems.
  • Coach support coaches and clinical educators to enable local sustainment and adoption of EMRs in conjunction with quality improvement in clinical practices, processes, and documentation.
  • Support clinicians in acute, primary, and community facilities and clinics, providing individual and group coaching, mentoring, performance evaluations, and onsite EMR support.
  • Use analytical IT tools to measure and increase EMR adoption, and act as an EMR subject matter expert to resolve issues of change management, training, design, build, and support of EMRs and other IT tools.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a healthcare or health informatics discipline.
  • Current full practicing registration with the applicable provincial College or Association (for regulated healthcare professional candidates).
  • Relevant professional development in areas of IM/IT, process improvement, change management, project management, group facilitation.
  • Five to seven years of experience in front-line clinical care and working in clinical operations and/or clinical systems.
  • Candidates with current Digital Health Canada membership and Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems – Canada CPHIMS-CA Certification are preferred.
