Job Summary

: The York Region District School Board is seeking a Supply Instructor to deliver language instruction on an as-needed basis. This role will work under the direction of the Principal, Continuing and Community Education, and will be responsible for delivering the Board's International Languages program in one of the following languages: Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Tagalog, Spanish, Mandarin, and Ukrainian. The successful candidate will provide instruction in a learning environment and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Key qualifications include a Grade 12 Diploma or equivalency, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and experience working with children in a learning environment. The ideal candidate will also possess strong time management, scheduling, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work in a co-operative and independent environment. Previous experience with Continuing Education is an asset. The successful candidate will be required to submit a satisfactory Criminal Background Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening as a condition of employment. Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver language instruction on an as-needed basis
  • Work under the direction of the Principal, Continuing and Community Education
  • Deliver the Board's International Languages program
  • Provide instruction in a learning environment
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Meet the needs of students with diverse learning styles and abilities
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 Diploma or equivalency
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience working with children in a learning environment
  • Strong time management, scheduling, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a co-operative and independent environment
  • Previous experience with Continuing Education is an asset
