Job Summary:

As a Firearms Inventory Specialist at Bass Pro Shops, you will be responsible for maintaining a comprehensive and accurate firearms inventory for our retail locations. This includes acquiring and disposing of firearms in accordance with federal legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service and ensure a positive shopping experience for all customers.
  • Inventory Management: Organize and maintain firearms in all locations within the retail store, including the Gun Counter, Fine Gun Room, Gunsmith department, and firearm storage areas.
  • Document Control: Ensure all Firearm Sales documents are completed thoroughly and accurately.
  • Access Control: Control access in and out of the Gun Vault.
  • Transfer Approvals: Ensure all Federal Firearms Transfer Approvals are received prior to a firearm being released to a customer.
  • Shipping and Receiving: Ship and/or transfer firearms as requested.
  • Inventory Verification: Receive and secure incoming firearms and/or black powder using A&D log books and electronic A&D system. Verify gun accuracy to Receiving documents.
  • Advertising: Set and maintain all ads related to firearms.
  • Monthly Audit: Conduct monthly Firearms Audit.
  • Training and Development: Assist with training of Store Associates as requested by the GM or OPS Support Regional Manager.
  • Compliance: Contact customers via telephone, certified mail, or email concerning any necessary corrections to Firearms Transfer information to keep the retail location in compliance with all federal legal requirements.
  • Company Policies: Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Work Environment: Keep work area clean, neat, and safe at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Inventory Control Experience: Previous experience with Inventory Control procedures preferred.
  • Firearms Knowledge: Prior knowledge and experience with firearms preferred.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stays abreast of all Federal Firearms laws and regulations.
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer knowledge and math skills.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Organization and Attention to Detail: Well organized and detail oriented.
  • Other Duties: Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
