Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Application Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with the Triconex Turbomachinery Control (TMR) PLC system and a strong background in design, development, integration, testing, and commissioning of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and Burner Management Systems (BMS).

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead and execute Safety System and Control projects.
  2. Interpret client-supplied SRS, narratives, C&E's, and IO database.
  3. Design, program, and commission Triconex-based SIS, BMS, and Turbomachinery Control systems.
  4. Design and program Wonderware InTouch-based HMI.
  5. Provide answers to customer inquiries concerning Triconex software and applications.
  6. Interpret customer technical specifications and generate strategies for implementation in production.
  7. Assist customers in defining detailed application, system, and hardware requirements.
  8. Lead and participate in customer acceptance tests.
  9. Work from process and instrumentation drawings to design and implement applications in the Tricon system to meet requirements.
  10. Prepare and verify engineering documents (Design documents, User Guide, Test documents, Basis of Design Document).
  11. Assist with on-site engineering, start-up, and application commissioning.
  12. Provide complex technical design, knowledge, and know-how for customers in broader application domains.
  13. Help establish technical strategies, internal/external procedures, and best practices.
  14. Responsible for reporting potential risks and/or opportunities on customer technical needs.
  15. Communicate status, issues, and solutions internally and to customers.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with Triconex H/W and S/W design and development experience.
  2. Minimum of 6-8 years of hands-on experience in design and programming of Triconex Systems.
  3. Able to travel more than 50% (mainly Canada and US).
Preferred Skills
  1. Knowledge of Triconex, Trident, and Tricon CX Systems hardware and software.
  2. Experience in Wonderware InTouch HMI application development.
  3. PLC-based SIS and BMS commissioning and troubleshooting experience.
  4. Knowledge of CSA and CEC codes related to PLC systems application for O&G and Process industry.
  5. Experience with computer networks, managed switches including VLANS and basic firewall setup.
  6. Experience with VM solutions using Hyper-V and VMWare.
