Job Title: Software Development Team Lead

ADGA is seeking a highly skilled Software Development Team Lead to join our team. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for overseeing the development of simulation solutions that provide seamless, integrated, modern, and secure training environments for the Canadian Army and our NATO allies.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of developers in the development of virtual simulation projects.
  • Develop features and stories for virtual simulation projects.
  • Create, modify, or improve the simulation software utilized in simulating the Army's Command and Control Applications.
  • Supervise on-site testing events.
  • Provide on-site support for virtual simulation deployment, requiring occasional travel.
  • Participate in large-scale planning events, both virtually and on-site, every three months.
  • Report to the project manager on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Work within a development team ranging from two to nine developers, depending on the project's requirements, complexity, and priority.
  • Lead a SCRUM team.
Requirements:
  • Hold a completed College Diploma in Engineering or Computer Technology, or a Bachelor of Science, or equivalent.
  • Have 5+ years of experience in system engineering, information technology/information management, software engineering/life cycle management, computer or communications systems.
  • Experience developing strategic documentation, frameworks, and strategies.
  • Experience conducting reviews and assessments of program objectives from a technical perspective.
  • Experience analyzing and evaluating alternative solutions to meet departmental objectives.
  • Experience ensuring the integration of all aspects of solutions.
  • Experience in the preparation of guidance and strategic direction documentation in the field of information technology/information management or engineering.
  • Experienced in C++ and/or Java programming language.
  • Experienced in Qt 4 and/or 5 framework (an asset).
  • Military experience will be considered a strong asset.
