About This Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Technology Risk Officer to join our team at Scotiabank. As a key member of our technology risk management function, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective management of technology-related risks across our organization.

With a strong background in IT and non-financial risk management, you will be responsible for leading the design and operation of related cyber and compliance monitoring and improvement activities. You will also maintain technical expertise on security and resiliency aspects of systems, applications, and networks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the identification, assessment, and prioritization of technology risks across various business areas, ensuring timely remediation and escalation when necessary.
  • Partner with other business areas and risk groups to assess, implement, and communicate new/updated risk controls, frameworks, policies, risk indicators, metrics, and limits.
  • Oversee analyses of systems and deliver regular reporting to senior management, developing reports and presentations to deliver updates on KPIs/KRIs.
  • Champion a high-performance environment and implement a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates the team.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in IT and/or non-financial risk management (governance, operations, audit, control functions, compliance, risk management).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and influencing capabilities.
  • Expert knowledge of global banking businesses, systems, and regulations.
  • Ability to balance conflicting goals of various departments and stakeholders.
  • Strong presentation design and delivery skills; data analytics and visual dashboarding are desirable.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $180,000-$220,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
