Position Details

We are seeking a qualified English teacher to fill a long-term assignment position in our Intermediate/Senior English department. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a range of English courses, including ENL1W1, NBE3U1, ENG2D1, and ENG4U1.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach English courses to students in grades 9-12
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum

Qualifications:

  • Ontario College of Teachers certification
  • Intermediate and Senior English qualifications
  • Experience teaching English courses in a secondary school setting

Appointment Process:

The appointment of this long-term assignment will be made in accordance with Part A, Article 17.3 of the current OECTA Secondary Collective Agreement. Priority will be given to unplaced, qualified redundant teacher applicants from the Secondary Teacher bargaining unit in order of seniority. In the event the assignment remains unfilled, qualified applications from the Occasional Roster will be considered.
