About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced cook to join our team at Grand Villa Casino. As a First Cook, you will be responsible for leading a team of cooks in a fast-paced, open front and fine dining kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a team of cooks to ensure efficient and high-quality food preparation and presentation.
- Develop and implement menu items and recipes to meet customer demands and preferences.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to achieve smooth service and minimize waste.
Requirements
- 2-5 years of experience in a cook position in a fine dining establishment or extensive culinary experience.
- Diploma or Certificate in Culinary Arts or equivalent education.
- Red Seal or equivalent certification is an asset.
- Foodsafe Certificate.
- Solid understanding of meat, starch, sauces, soups, and food safety preparation.
- Ability to lift items weighted similar to a crate of potatoes and stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to work flexible hours and special events.
