Job Summary:
The Caregiver Specialist is a vital role within our community, playing a critical part in the lives of our residents and fostering meaningful connections.
As a Caregiver Specialist, your daily responsibilities will include:
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date resident records, adhering to policies and procedures, and legislative requirements.
Administering medications as prescribed and monitoring changes in condition, reporting them to the Director of Wellness.
Promptly reporting incidents, near misses, illnesses, or problems with residents to the Director of Wellness or General Manager.
Providing guidance to Guest Attendants to ensure care assignments are completed and changes in residents' needs are reported to the Director of Wellness.
Maintaining a clean and safe environment for residents, utilizing infection control principles.
Performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Completion of the Personal Service Worker certificate program.
Successful completion of the Medication Administration training program provided on site and quarterly evaluation of competencies.
Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.
Current CPR training.
Experience working with seniors and knowledge of the aging process.
Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience with medication administration is an asset.
