We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Imaging Specialist to join our team at the University Health Network. As a key member of our department, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to our mission of advancing medical imaging.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of general imaging procedures using digital equipment, ensuring high-quality images and excellent patient care.
  • Participate in quality assurance initiatives to maintain and improve our imaging standards.
  • Collaborate with our team of radiologists and technologists to ensure seamless patient care and efficient workflow.
  • Develop and maintain strong technical skills, staying up-to-date with the latest imaging technologies and techniques.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to provide exceptional patient experience.
Requirements
  • Registration with the Canadian Medical and Radiological Technology Board (CMRITO)
  • Previous experience in general imaging, preferably in a hospital or academic setting
  • Completion of a Basic Life Support (BLS) program and certification in Level II: Basic Rescuer
  • One year of recent experience in a related area of responsibility, required
  • Current experience in general radiography, required
  • Ability to demonstrate empathy and compassion towards patients in challenging situations
  • Demonstrated strong technical skills and image quality
  • Knowledge of basic anatomy and pathology
  • Effective time management skills, ability to organize work, and set priorities
  • Ability to work accurately under stressful conditions
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a supportive team environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and recognition skills
  • Commitment to ongoing education and professional development
  • Excellent teaching skills
  • Demonstrated good work performance and attendance history
  • Effective computer skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous experience with Level 3 CT imaging or willingness to be trained, preferred
  • Membership with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT), preferred
  • Completion of a certified injection course, preferred
  • Enrollment in the CTIC offered by the CAMRT, preferred
