Job Summary

The Nursing Supervisor - Home Care Professional is a key member of the Home Care Leadership Team at Southern Health-Santé Sud. This role is responsible for providing professional nursing supervision to home care nurses and application team members to ensure high-quality client nursing services within the home care program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise home care nurses and application team members to ensure delivery of high-quality client care.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve client nursing services and program outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the Home Care Leadership Team to develop and implement program policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff on clinical and operational matters.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of quality improvement plans.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation, standards, and best practices in home care.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing along with five years of professional nursing experience.
  • Current CRNM registration.
  • Health Services Management course or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of home care systems and programs.
  • Knowledge of all relevant legislation and standards.
  • Demonstrated supervisory ability, including experience in employee and labour relations.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to function within the professional code of ethics, professional standards, and legislative requirements of the profession.
  • Demonstrated ability to use an analytical and inquiring approach to program development and problem-solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others in a multi-facility and program system.
  • Proficiency with Procura, MS Office suite of programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality, including paper, electronic formats, and other mediums.
  • Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population.
  • Proficiency in both official languages is essential for target and designated bilingual positions.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job.
  • Good work and attendance record.

Conditions of Employment

  • Requires a valid Class 5 driver's license, an all-purpose insured vehicle, and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.00.
