Position Overview
Reporting to the Manager of Health Services in the Home Care division, the Nursing Supervisor is tasked with overseeing the professional nursing staff and application team members to enhance and maintain the quality of nursing services provided to clients within the home care framework. This role is essential in the effective management of personnel and resources.
The incumbent will demonstrate a high degree of initiative and independent judgment in prioritizing tasks, determining appropriate methodologies, and addressing atypical situations. This position operates in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of Southern Health-Santé Sud, as well as adhering to established policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise nursing staff and ensure compliance with home care standards.
- Collaborate with the Home Care Leadership Team to enhance service delivery.
- Manage staff performance and provide guidance in professional development.
- Implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- University degree in Nursing or a Diploma in Nursing with a minimum of five years of relevant experience.
- Current registration with the CRNM.
- Completion of a Health Services Management course or equivalent training.
- Comprehensive understanding of home care systems and applicable regulations.
- Proven supervisory experience, including employee relations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to adhere to professional ethical standards and legislative requirements.
- Strong analytical skills for program development and problem resolution.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multi-facility and program environment.
- Proficiency in Procura and MS Office applications.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality across various formats.
- Respect for and promotion of cultural diversity within the community.
- Fluency in both official languages is essential for designated bilingual roles.
- Capacity to meet the physical and mental demands of the position.
- Consistent work attendance and performance record.
Employment Conditions
- A valid Class 5 driver's license and access to a fully insured vehicle with a minimum liability coverage of $1,000,000.00 are required.
