About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cleaning and Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at Payless Sand and Gravel Inc. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our facilities, as well as supervising and coordinating the activities of our cleaning staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hire and Train Staff: Recruit, train, and develop a team of cleaning staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge required to perform their duties effectively.
  • Supervise and Coordinate Activities: Oversee the daily activities of the cleaning staff, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Inspect Sites and Facilities: Conduct regular inspections of our facilities to ensure that they meet our high standards of cleanliness and safety.
  • Prepare Budgets and Cost Estimates: Develop and manage budgets and cost estimates for cleaning and maintenance projects.
  • Recommend Additional Services: Identify and recommend additional services required to maintain our facilities, such as painting, repair work, or replacement of furnishings and equipment.
  • Maintain Financial Records: Ensure accurate and up-to-date financial records are maintained for all cleaning and maintenance activities.
  • Receive Payments: Process payments for specialized cleaning jobs and ensure that all financial transactions are accurate and compliant with company policies.
  • Establish Work Schedules: Develop and manage work schedules for the cleaning staff to ensure that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
Work Environment and Physical Capabilities

Experience
  • 1-2 Years of Experience: Have at least 1-2 years of experience in a cleaning and maintenance role, preferably in a supervisory or management capacity.
  • Permanent Employment: Be available for permanent employment and willing to work a 35-hour week.
  • Language: Be fluent in English and able to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients.
