**Job Title:** Lead IT Systems Administrator

**Job Summary:** We are seeking an experienced and skilled Lead IT Systems Administrator to join our Information Technology team at FC Edmonton. The successful candidate will provide advanced technical support to end-users, maintain IT systems, and serve as an escalation point for complex technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • IT Systems Maintenance: Ensure the reliable operation of servers, networks, software, and telecommunications systems.
  • Advanced Technical Support: Provide expert troubleshooting for hardware and software issues, acting as an escalation point for complex cases and minimizing downtime.
  • Team Leadership: Guide junior analysts, helping develop their technical and customer service skills.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis to identify and resolve system security issues.
  • Monitoring: Use tools like Checkmk to proactively identify and address potential system issues.
  • Backup & Recovery: Manage backup processes and disaster recovery plans.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive system documentation and generate performance and security reports.
  • Cloud Application Support: Provide support for Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and Adobe products.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with our IT team on projects and provide assistance to non-technical staff as needed.
  • Quality Service: Ensure high-quality service in responding to IT requests.

Requirements:

  • Education: Minimum of a 2-year post-secondary diploma or certificate in Information Technology or equivalent.
  • Experience: 8+ years of experience in IT systems administration, providing advanced support in a medium-to-large organization.
  • Skills: Expertise in managing network infrastructure, virtualization (XCP-NG), and cloud services (Azure, Google Workspace). Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Linux Ubuntu, Office 365, Active Directory, GPOs, Firewalls, VLAN, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and HP Switches. Proficiency with remote access technologies such as RDS and Citrix, as well as scripting tools like PowerShell and GAM (Google Workspace Admin). Familiarity with IT service management principles (ITIL) and experience with ticketing systems like Atlassian Jira.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with a demonstrated ability to guide and develop junior team members.
  • Communication: Excellent problem-solving abilities, including conducting root cause analysis and implementing solutions to prevent recurring issues. Clear verbal and written communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical staff.
  • Certifications: Certifications in relevant IT areas (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate – MCSA, ITIL Foundation) are an asset.
  • Driver's License: Valid class 5 driver's license with access to a reliable vehicle.
