Job Summary
Brenntag is seeking a highly skilled Technical Service Representative to join our team. As a Technical Service Representative, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient handling of high-risk products.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage risk considering technical, legal, and industry requirements to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.
- Act as a Technical Advisor for emergency response call networks and emergency response assistance plans under the Canadian Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations.
- Perform site inspections to ensure operational and safety risk is being managed for deliveries of high-risk products, including flammable liquids, oxidizing liquids, compressed gases, and cyanide.
- Conduct product stewardship training for customers on safe handling of high-risk products.
- Assist with responding to customer inquiries related to product stewardship, operational safety, and technical standards.
- Participate in the maintenance of controlled documentation (standard operating procedures, forms, and work instructions) related to Technical Service responsibilities.
- Participate in the maintenance of the legal register for legislation relevant to Technical Service responsibilities.
Requirements
- Post-secondary education with a degree in chemistry, occupational health and safety, or a related discipline.
- Experience in the chemical industry with exposure to operational safety.
- Emergency response training or experience with emergency response.
- Strong communication skills in English and French, both written and verbal, and confidence in giving oral presentations.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel.
