Job Summary
Wood's Homes is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Support Counsellor I to join our Family Support Network program.
Role Overview
The Family Support Counsellor I will be responsible for delivering high-quality family support services to children and families in the care of Wood's Homes. This will involve providing in-home support, school liaison, and community coordination as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments to identify family needs and develop personalized goals and objectives.
- Advocate for families and connect them with community resources, while empowering them to self-advocate.
- Provide parent skills training and individual and family counselling to support family well-being.
- Ensure the safety of all family members by intervening in crisis situations and providing follow-up care as required.
- Participate in regular supervision, case reviews, and team meetings to ensure effective service delivery.
- Report workplace hazards and incidents to their supervisor.
Requirements
- Master's degree in a Human Science or related field.
- Minimum two to four years of experience working with infants, children, and families.
- Experience in family and in-home support is preferred.
- Case management experience is also preferred.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Personal suitability and a strong commitment to the organization's mission.
