Key Responsibilities- Provide Nursing Care: Deliver exceptional nursing care to patients on the MASTRS/OASIS unit, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
- Collaborate with Interdisciplinary Teams: Work closely with healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans that address the unique needs of each patient.
- Assume Charge Nurse Responsibilities: Take on leadership roles, directing the work of others and ensuring seamless patient care.
- Administer Medications and Treatments: Safely and effectively administer psychiatric and non-psychiatric medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Conduct Clinical Assessments: Perform thorough clinical assessments to identify patient needs and develop effective care plans.
- Engage with Patients and Families: Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families, promoting a positive and empowering experience.
- Licensure and Education: Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) degree.
- Experience and Certifications: A minimum of 2 years of experience working with mood and anxiety patients, with a Mental Health Nursing certificate and CPR/Basic Rescuer certification.
- Skills and Knowledge: Strong assessment and documentation skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
