About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Editor-Translator to join our team at Ogilvy. As a key member of our content creation team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and quality of our translated content.

Key Responsibilities
  • Edit and translate copy decks, proofreading in both languages to ensure error-free content
  • Translate client-facing work and internal documents from English to French and from French to English
  • Develop and maintain internal and brand lexicons, leveraging computer-assisted translation tools to ensure efficiency and consistency
  • Collaborate with creative partners to recommend solutions to stylistic or grammatical challenges
  • Compare proofread typeset proofs and Web and TV assets against original copy to ensure they are free of errors or omissions
  • Edit documents across multiple platforms, including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and Adobe Creative Suite
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in bilingual copy editing and proofreading, and translation (English to French; French to English)
  • Agency experience is an asset
  • Expert attention to detail, with the ability to identify and correct stylistic, grammatical, and typographical errors
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Canadian French and English punctuation and typography standards
  • Strong analytical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Process-oriented self-starter, with a constant thirst for learning and improving skills
