Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Embedded Systems Engineer to join our R&D organization. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing or updating mass spectrometer firmware, control systems, and programmable logic devices. Your expertise will be crucial in identifying and mitigating technical risks, analyzing emerging embedded systems technologies, and translating their implications into an effective technical vision and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop or update mass spectrometer firmware, control systems, and programmable logic devices.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks.
- Analyze emerging embedded systems technologies and translate their implications into an effective technical vision and strategy.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering (Computer Engineer degree considered if H/W experience).
- C/C++ Programming skills.
- FPGA development skills (VHDL language).
- Well-versed in Linux application development and kernel image creation.
- Strong understanding of real-time software development and multithreading concepts.
- Able to read and create electrical schematics.
- Digital electronic circuitry design.
- Understanding of control system concepts.
- Comfortable working with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Xilinx Zynq-based development an asset.
- Analog electronic circuitry development skills an asset.
- Web-based development skills an asset (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript).
- Possessing a task- and goal-oriented mindset.
- Analytical thinking driven by data.
