Job Title: On-Call Bus Driver

School District No. 48 is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious individual to join our team as an on-call bus driver.

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Transportation and Grounds Supervisor, and with the general direction of the Director of Operations, this position will be responsible for safely transporting students to and from schools and/or on extra-curricular bus runs as directed.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and safely transport students to and from schools and/or on extra-curricular bus runs as directed.
  • Operate a school bus in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and School District policies.
  • Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with students, parents, and school staff.
Qualifications:
  • Completion of Grade 11 and over six (6) months up to and including one (1) year related driving experience.
  • Valid Class 2 BC Driver's License with air endorsement.
  • Current First Aid Certificate or equivalent.
  • Propane Filling Ticket.
  • Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials information Systems (WHMIS) and Worksafe BC (WSBC) safety procedures.
