The National Opera Center is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Technical Director to join our team. As a key member of our production department, you will be responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of our productions and events, ensuring seamless execution and exceptional quality.
Key Responsibilities:- Technical Element Coordination: Coordinate and oversee the technical elements of productions and events, including set construction, lighting, sound, and special effects.
- Estimating and Budgeting: Estimate and track expenses related to shows and events, ensuring budgets are met and providing financial reports as needed.
- Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with creative teams, stage management, shops, crew, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth production processes.
- Research and Coordination: Research and coordinate rentals from local suppliers, and establish rehearsal hall setup plans.
- Supervision and Administration: Supervise technical crews, coordinate local shipping, and perform administrative tasks such as tracking production expenses and preparing reimbursements.
- Post-secondary education: A degree in technical theatre, production management, or a related field.
- Technical theatre experience: Three to five years of experience in technical theatre, with a focus on production management and coordination.
- Supervisory experience: Experience supervising technical crews and coordinating production logistics.
- Communication and interpersonal skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Technical skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and other technical software relevant to the role.

Benefits:The National Opera Center offers a competitive salary range of $55,000 - $60,000 per year, as well as medical, dental, and EAP benefits after three months of employment.
