Job Title: Java Software Engineer

Our client is a leading healthcare company in North America, recognized for its innovative electronic medical records (EMR) solutions. They are seeking a highly motivated Java Developer to join their R&D team in Markham, Ontario.

The Role

As a Java Developer, you will contribute to the company's business initiatives by supporting team members with various activities, including:

  • Designing, prototyping, implementing, and deploying core platform services
  • Developing an early understanding of the product, documenting design and code details, and participating in peer code reviews
  • Writing maintainable code with extensive test coverage, working in a professional software engineering environment
  • Collaborating across the company to define, design, and build new features
  • Tackling complex problems in distributed computing, performance, and more
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • A strong background in networking, operating systems, and security
  • Minimum of 1 year of engineering experience with Java and overall software development experience
  • Knowledge of unit and integration testing methodologies
  • Highly motivated with good communications and organization skills
  • Experience working with traditional RDBMS databases
  • Experience contributing to OpenSource software projects
  • Experience working with PostgreSQL
Nice to Have

Experience with GWT (Google Web Toolkit), Maven, and GIT would be an asset.
