We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at Blue Arc Homes. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of our construction and renovation projects.
Key Responsibilities- Construction and Renovation: Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials to build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems.
- Installation and Fitting: Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware to ensure a high-quality finish.
- Estimation and Planning: Estimate costs and materials for projects, and plan and coordinate work to meet deadlines.
- Maintenance and Repair: Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in various settings, including mills, mines, hospitals and industrial plants.
- Education and Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field, with a secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Work Environment: Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in noisy, dusty and outdoors environments.
- Work Setting: Willingness to work in construction, various locations, and renovation settings.
- Level of Expertise: Maintenance and repair expertise, with experience in working with hand tools and equipment.
- Transportation and Travel: Willingness to travel regularly for work.
- Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to bend, crouch, kneel, and handle heavy loads, with a combination of sitting, standing and walking.
- Personal Suitability: Judgement, team player, punctuality, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
