About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Protection Engineer to join our team at WSP Canada. As a Fire Protection Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and reviewing fire protection and life safety systems on building projects in the public and private sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the design of automatic fire protection sprinkler systems
  • Coordinate with project teams, external vendors, and other engineers to implement design modifications
  • Execute directions provided by engineers and management
  • Gather resources to assist in problem-solving
  • Communicate engineering design concepts to both engineering and non-engineering audiences
  • Occasional local travel may be required
Requirements
  • Related Bachelor of Engineering degree or Engineering Technology diploma
  • 3 to 5 years of fire protection and life safety experience
  • Knowledge of REVIT and AutoCAD
  • Basic knowledge of NFPA, FM Global, Building and Fire Code Standards
  • Competent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
