Nurse Practitioner

The Registered Nurse (RN) - Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) role is a dynamic and challenging opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and communities. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide comprehensive and coordinated nursing services related to sexual and reproductive health, including STBBI screening, testing, treatment, and contact tracing, contraceptive management, pelvic exams, cervical cancer screening, and HIV pre and post exposure prophylaxis, immunizations, and gender affirming care.
Our ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to health equity, social justice, and social determinants of health, and will apply this lens to all key responsibilities. You will ensure clients are supported in navigating the healthcare system, providing trauma-informed, person-centered, gender-inclusive, holistic, and culturally safe care, honouring Indigenous knowledge, wisdom, and diversity. The role includes a strong focus on prevention, education, health promotion, assessment, treatment, contact tracing, coordination, support, liaison, and client referral to other health services.
As a member of our team, you will work in partnership with other healthcare providers and community-based services and agencies, both internal and external to IH, providing clinic-based services as well as outreach-based services. These services may be outside of the nurse's home community. This is a permanent part-time (0.52 FTE) opportunity.
Shifts will be days and evenings, with shift times of 09:00 to 21:00 and 13:00 to 21:00. The position will have an outreach aspect and the current sites for clinic delivery will be Kelowna UPCC and Outreach Urban Health. Please note that travel is a requirement for this position and transportation arrangements must meet the Employer's requirements. You are required to hold a valid BC Driver's License and may be required to drive a personal car on mileage and/or be assigned a fleet vehicle as a condition of employment.
