Job Title: Class 3 Side Load Driver

Location: Bridgewater, NS

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a Class 3, Sideloader Refuse vehicle in a safe and efficient manner. This includes inspecting, cleaning, and maintaining the equipment, as well as ensuring assigned routes are completed in a timely and safe manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive a Class 3, Sideloader Refuse vehicle on assigned routes to fill contractual requirements
  • Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle
  • Load and unload heavy materials, tools, and equipment under varying traffic and road conditions
  • Communicate with dispatchers and supervisors to receive delivery instructions and report any issues
  • Ensure a safe work environment and comply with all safety policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • Valid commercial driver's license with clear driver abstract
  • Class 3 driver's license, with air brake in good standing
  • Ability to follow a firm work schedule and work in a team environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service
  • Ability to lift 20-75 pounds on a regular basis and work in a fast-paced environment
