Job Title: Operations Manager - Strategic Growth

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our team in achieving strategic growth and excellence. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Day-to-Day Operations: Oversee the day-to-day operations of our organization, ensuring effective management of resources and workflows.
  • Collaborate with Warehouse Operations Managers: Work closely with warehouse operations managers to ensure proper delegation of tasks and efficient workflow.
  • Train and Develop Key Personnel: Train and instruct key personnel on specific tasks and procedures when required.
  • Hiring and Training: Collaborate with the HR Team to hire and train new personnel, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed.
  • Contingency Planning: Establish a contingency plan with warehouse operations managers to ensure continuous workflow in case of personnel absence.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare production and performance reports for senior management, analyzing data to inform strategic decisions.
  • Strategic Goal Setting: Create and establish long-term strategic goals for the organization, identifying opportunities and evaluating market trends.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Oversee the completion of all necessary documentation and ensure compliance with safety practices, including food safety and Health & Safety.
  • Mediating Internal Conflicts: Act as a mediator for internal conflicts, resolving issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Team Collaboration and Performance: Foster collaboration among teams and improve work flow by setting up discussions with operations managers.
  • Safety Monitoring: Monitor teams to ensure compliance with safety practices, including food safety and Health & Safety.
  • Quality Control and Production Coordination: Coordinate activities between Quality Control, Production, and Food Safety departments.
  • Operational Efficiency: Initiate ongoing operational efficiency activities to drive improvement.
  • Key Performance Indicators: Create and monitor current and existing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and present to executives.
  • Report Preparation: Prepare and maintain reports in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Special Projects: Assist with special projects as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Leadership Experience: Proven track record of leading continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, effective at communicating with all levels of management.
  • Problem-Solving Ability: Strong decision-making ability and quick problem-solving skills.
  • Time Management and Leadership: Excellent time management and leadership skills required.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Multitasking and Adaptability: Ability to handle multiple projects with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum Ten Years of Management Experience: Minimum ten years of management experience, preferably from a food production and highly regulated industry.
  • Post-Secondary Diploma: Post-secondary diploma in business management, Operations/Supply Chain or other relevant field.

Estimated Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
