Opportunity Overview

Aecon, a market leader in infrastructure and transportation networks, is seeking a skilled Modeling Specialist to join our integrated digital delivery team in Toronto.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize automated design software and engineering knowledge to create 3D presentations based on specifications documents and means & methods plans.
  • Set up 3D models on the right coordinates and orientation in a 3D digital delivery environment.
  • Purge and audit models before handing them over to coordinators.
  • Create dynamic blocks and attributes using provided Dynamo scripts.
  • Perform quantity estimates and other filtering and calculations using cloud-based tools (Autodesk assemble).
  • Produce detailed 2D and 3D construction drawings to meet project expectations.
  • Assist in producing 2D sheets (plans, sections, 3D clips, and details) from 3D multi-discipline models.
Requirements
  • Pursuing a graduate degree in Civil Engineering, BIM, Drafting, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Good working knowledge of CAD, design development, construction documents, and engineering principles.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks, InfraWorks, Dynamo, and other AEC digital applications and platforms.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office and MS Teams skills.
  • 1-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret 2D and 3D BIM drawings and models to help investigate modeling problems.
Preferred Skills
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience using Bentley design software for model-based digital delivery.
  • More than two years' experience as a drafter or technical designer.
  • Intermediate or advanced qualification in the Autodesk AEC collection suite.
  • Knowledge and experience in Autodesk Construction Cloud.
