Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Snow Plow Operator to join our winter maintenance team. As a Snow Plow Operator, you will safely operate a combo plow unit, performing snow removal on local roads and highways as per the contract requirements. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate documentation, such as fuel reports, safety reports, and hours of service, as well as performing routine maintenance and minor repairs on the equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a combo plow unit to perform snow removal on local roads and highways
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including fuel reports, safety reports, and hours of service
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on the equipment
  • Familiarize yourself with route maps and sand/salt application rates
  • Meet call-in requirements during winter storm events

Requirements

  • DZ or AZ license with a clean driver's abstract required
  • Available to respond to call-ins within thirty minutes
  • Ability to operate a loader and perform other maintenance duties, such as patrolling, patching, and minor equipment maintenance
  • Ability to work assigned shifts, and extended hours (evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays) as winter events require
  • Willingness to work in extreme weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to drive manual transmission
  • Previous experience in winter-works operations
  • Mechanical knowledge, ability to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to equipment as required
  • Good understanding of MTO standards and AMC Contract Performance Requirements
