Job Summary

A proactive member of the School District #91 (Nechako Lakes) team is required to fill a relief position as an Indigenous Education Advocate at Decker Lake Elementary. The successful candidate will work 75 hours per week, 3 days a week (Monday, Thursday, and Friday), providing support to students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide educational support to students, particularly those from Indigenous backgrounds.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to develop and implement culturally responsive educational programs.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of Indigenous education initiatives.
  • Support the creation of a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Indigenous cultures and histories, as well as experience working with Indigenous students and communities. A degree in education or a related field is preferred.
